V- brake :- Shimano has trademarked and popularized the term v- brake
 - connected to the frame with 2 bolts separate
 - noodle ( 90 ° bent tube into which the cable ) and stir- ups ( a noodle attached ) must be made of strong material because if damaged brake failure could occur
